Board Meeting Minutes

1. Board Attendees:

3. Items Discussed:

· Approved Meeting Minutes (Calendar) from our July Board Meeting.

· Voted in 4 new members.

· Approved Bylaw Revision of Election Section.

· Will be moving the election to March (around the Spring General Meeting) and offices commence on July 1st. Cristina Blanco to revise bylaws accordingly.

· Approved Elections Process (though now will need to revamp the process to the new timeline).

· Announced Commissioner Sosa’s Town Hall Meeting on August 18th at 6:00pm at the MCH Auditorium (meeting is for her whole district).

· Approved Calendar for 2009 and 2010 (attached to these meeting minutes).

· Help-A-Neighbor Event moved to November 14th. Need to be sure to address all liability issues.

· Absolute final article submission deadline for the summer newsletter is this Saturday, August 15th.

· Voted on Gem in Schenley Park Award.

· Cristina Blanco voted and approved as this year’s Elections Chair.

· Membership Drive to take place in September. Memberships for 2010 are from January 1st – December 31st.

· Send a specialized mailing to current members thanking them for their membership in 2009, a recap of 2009 and encouraging them to become a member in 2010 (include application).

· Membership applications to be distributed by foot with Halloween flyers to all of the area.

· Membership application to be included in the summer newsletter.

4. Closing

· Next Board Meeting: Thursday, September 10th at 7:00pm in Miami Children's Hospital Conference Room B.
